#GirlBoss

Coco Chanel:

When you hear the term #GirlBoss what comes to mind? After speaking to many of my colleagues and friends, they defined a #GirlBoss as a woman who accepts nothing less than the best the best in all aspects of her life. This doesn't mean that you have to start your own business, be the vice president of a successful company, and it doesn't even mean that have to be the richest woman. You also don't have to be an entrepreneur in order to be considered a #GirlBoss. You just have to command the best from yourself in what ever you do and how you do it.

Some of my friends are stay at home moms, executives in companies and I 100% call them #GirlBosses every day! If you are goal setter and set no bounds to achieve those goals you too are a #GirlBoss.

Bethany Frankel once said, "Follow your gut no matter the circumstance." This is the best advice to come from a successful Entrepreneur/Business woman. Are you a Girl Boss?

Until next time beauts!

Dating...I Don't Understand You!?

Romance-flowers-head over heels... What do all these words have in common? They all relate to the mechanics of dating! Who knew dating was such a science?! Dating actually isn't that hard, if you really think about it, today's millennial world has only made it so difficult. And we have also contributed to it. Let me explain myself, because I feel like I lost you.

We are so caught up in our social media world (every aspect of it- Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, snapchat, MySpace), our phones, and don't let me forget all these new dating sites (swipe right-swipe left). Where has getting to know someone, truly on a deep and personal level gone?! This is why one night stands, flings and dating has become so difficult for not only women, but men too.

We all complain so much that we're still single and can't meet anyone...well I'll give you one piece of advice! Ready for it.... Get off social media and start communicating with that cute guy you've been eyeing in the bar, at work, at the coffee shop, wherever it was! Stop swiping right and/or left!

Until next time beauts!

Ready For A Bathroom Makeover?

Have you looked at your bathroom recently and just wanted to gut the whole area? The only thing stopping you are two major things:

  1. you don't know where to start (need some great/inspiring ideas) and
  2. you're seeing some huge dollar signs when you think makeover.
The great news is you can makeover your bathroom without breaking the bank. The fist thing i recommend is to create a visual board. Reason for this is to help you visualize and undertand what you want your ideal bathroom to look like and what your overall budget should be.

Let's get started with some ideas to help with the brainstorming
(A.K.A: Your visual board):

    Valentines Day Treat #4

    Linzer Cookies | Cooking Classy
    Ingredients
    • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 3/4 cup (96g) slivered almonds
    • 1/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus more for dusting
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/4 tsp almond extract
    • 8 oz strawberry or raspberry jam, seedless if preferred (preferably freezer jam)
    Directions
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, salt and baking powder, set aside. In a food processor, pulse almonds with brown sugar until finely ground, set aside.
    • In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, whip together butter and powdered sugar on low speed until combined, then increase to medium-high and whip until creamy, about 1 minute. Mix in egg, then blend in vanilla and almond extract. Mix in almond mixture, then with mixer set on low speed, slowly add in flour mixture and mix until combined. Form mixture into a ball and drop onto a sheet of plastic wrap, then flatten into a 6-inch round disk, cover with plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator 2 hours.
    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Dust work surface with flour, cut disk in half and then evenly roll out each portion into 1/8 to 1/6-inch thickness. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter, then using a smaller heart shape cookie cutter, cut smaller hearts into the centers of half of the hearts. Carefully transfer to Silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheets (you can run a sharp knife or pastry scaper under cookies to help lift them if needed. Also, chill dough that's not currently being rolled or baked, the hearts hold their shape better when cold), spacing cookies 1-inch apart. Bake in preheated oven 10 - 12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on baking sheet several minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Spread strawberry jam over whole hearts, dust cookies with heart cut centers with powdered sugar then place those cookies over over tops. Store in an airtight container.

8 Books to Read Before They Hit the Movie Screen

Book SummaryThe last book of the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay is the completion of Katniss Everdeen’s rebellion against the Capital and her fight to bring President Snow down. The last movie is going to be amazing, but the fact that it’s almost over reallyblows… (sorry)

Book SummaryMargo Roth Spiegelman, the unattainable girl next door, convinces Quentin to embark on a journey of revenge, but come the next morning, Margo has gone missing and has left clues for Q. He and his friends go on a road trip in search of M, unsure if they will find her dead or alive. If you like John Green books (The Fault in Our Stars), then this should be right up your alley.

Book SummaryLike any other formulated Nicholas Sparks book, this story involves romance, secrets, relationship problems, and scenes that will make you cry. The Longest Ride is a story of two couples whose lives intersect in profound ways. If you’ve read or seen any other Sparks creations and loved them, this will most likely be no different. Also, say hello to Clint Eastwood’s hot son.

Book SummaryThe second book in the Divergent series, Insurgent continues Tris’ fight against Jeanine Matthews and her brutal agenda that threatens to tear society apart and kill Divergents. The book is exciting and hard to put down, and hopefully the movie will follow the novel more than the previews imply.

Book SummaryBianca Piper is somewhat of an outcast, but she has a gorgeous group of loyal friends to keep her company. When man-whore Wesley Rush calls her the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend), Bianca adds him to the top of her enemy list. But when things turn bad at home, she develops a friends-with-benefits relationship with him, and worse, falls for him the more they hang out. The movie is reminiscent of a modern She’s All That.

Book SummaryAn innocent, independent girl named Anastasia Steele falls for a rich, powerful, and dominant man named Christian Grey. Their newly developed romance brings out the dark side in Ana and a very unusual side of Christian. The book is 530 pages of sex and BDSM with a little bit of plot in between. The theaters will be packed, but apparently there’s not nearly as much nudity as the book implies so who knows how raunchy the adaptation will be.

Book SummaryRosie and Alex, best friends since childhood, are the type of people who should be together, even if they don’t realize it. Despite being separated as teenagers, they are inseparable via email and letters, and are constantly on the rise of a potential romance. This story comes from the same author as P.S. I Love You, so if you enjoyed that then there’s a good chance you’ll like this too.

    Trailerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zL3YJKygd4

Book SummaryThe story follows Alice Howland, an accomplished professor and a mother of three grown children. She starts to lose her memory and is later diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease, struggling to maintain her lifestyle and sense of self. The book is heartbreaking and emotionally charged, and there’s already Oscar buzz surrounding Julianne Moore’s performance; it’s bound to be a good film to catch!

    IT’S SWEATER SEASON
Sweater season has arrived! New York City temperatures are starting to go down to the low 30's (it's only November and it feels like January) :) Now would be a great time to stock up on a some comfy sweaters and stay warm inside the house and when you go out.
omg, where can I get this?! Looks so cozy and would look perfect with curled hair. c:oversized holiday sweater. get student discounts on Fall fashion http://www.studentrate.com/Fashion-DiscountsForever Asleep | Ramblings of a 20 something about health, weight loss, books, movies, and life
WHEN IT COMES TO THE COLD, I DON'T MESS
Warm clothes are a must for me. If you were in New York City last winter, then you know what it is like to be extremely cold and now is the time to stock up! Winter is no friend of mine. I get cold very easily, even if it’s below 65 degrees. The most comfortable temperature for me is 75-80 degrees. As I got older and started traveling more frequently, I learned that when it’s cold, dressing warm is a must. I have a vast wardrobe of coats, hats, gloves, scarves, thick socks, winter boots and really warm thick sweaters. They all keep me warm and cozy when room temperatures are in the mid 60's and when it’s anywhere from 60 to below 0 degrees outside.

    THE COZY SWEATER ROUNDUP
Enough of my rambling on about cozy winter sweaters, and I thought I would inspire everyone with some cozy sweater images for shopping. I have added images along with the names, prices and where to buy them from. Below is my pick from thick, warm, fashionable, and practical sweaters.  I have also added in some BLACK FRIDAY sales going on. Happy Shopping & Stay Warm!
